Winifred (Winnie) Greaser Daffron of Maryville and Townsend passed away March 7, 2012 at Asbury Acres Health Center. She was a member of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church since 1948 but has attended Calvary Baptist Church during the last few years. She was a graduate of Townsend High School and attended the University of Tennessee. She was a Blount County teacher, banker, and a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Preceded in death by her husband Earl B. Daffron, parents Homer and Alice Greaser, brothers Charlie and Ralph Greaser, and sisters Mary Greaser Bachschmidt and Helen Greaser Dunn. Survivors include son Thomas Earl Daffron and fiancé Kathy Eaves and Daughter Gennie Sue Daffron Cardwell and Randy Cardwell, grandchildren Jason Daffron, Lori Cardwell Greene, Steven Cardwell and Jennifer Cardwell, Sister-in-law Betty Daffron, special friend Wilma Williams and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at Grandview Cemetery Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Bobby Nick officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund. Friends may call at their convenience after 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Smith Chapel.
