Wilson Helton

March 14, 1913 — July 29, 2007

Wilson C. (Jack) Helton age 94 of Maryville passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, Deacon and the Sunday School Superintendent. Jack retired from ALCOA with 40 years of service and was a member of The 25 Year Club. He was the last surviving member of R.P. and Carrie Helton's 11 children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Helton; infant son, J. D. Helton; parents, R. P. and Carrie Helton; brothers, Henry, Bill, Clyde, Jim, Roy, Elmer, Herman, and Bobby Helton; sisters, Alice Fox and Ina Frazier. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Iva Lou and Wayne Frazier of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Ella Jean Helton of Hilton Head, SC; grandchildren and spouses, Darrell and Paula Frazier of Jamestown, TN, Lisa and Charlie Brown of Maryville, Donna and Randy Kidd of Maryville, Cynthia and Robert Cross of Marietta, GA, and Melissa and Randy Hanna of Smyrna, GA; great grandchildren, Leah and husband, Jimmy Schuster, Wilson Paine, Mattie Kidd, Peyton Paine, Madeline Cross, Olivia Cross, Victoria Hanna, Sophia Hanna, and two step great grandchildren; great-great granddaughter, Audrie Schuster; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the staff at Morningview Assisted Living for the love and care the have given to Jack for the last six years, and also to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Bob Peek, Rev. Terry Russell and Rev. Greg Long officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Grandview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2208 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803 in memory of Jack Helton. Friends may call at their convenience after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Smith Trinity Chapel.
