Wilma Mantooth Murphy age 86 passed away May 14, 2013. She died at her home in Oak Ridge, TN surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born May 30, 1926 to the late Stella and Earl Baumgardner. She met and married the late McGhee "Mac" Burke Mantooth in 1946, who worked for the aluminum company of America. Wilma and Mac lived in several places along the east coast until his retirement in 1982 when they returned to Tennessee. Wilma was a homemaker and avid gardener who loved the outdoors and enjoyed driving through the Smoky Mountains on weekends. She loved traveling and visiting her sister in Florida and her son in Washington State. In 2010 she married Ted Murphy and enjoyed his companionship as they moved to Oak Ridge to be closer to her son. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers, Homer and Fred Baumgardner, sister, Earline Duggan, and husbands, Mac Mantooth and Ted Murphy, and great grandson, Maximillian Sean Mantooth. She is survived by her son, Daniel Stephen Mantooth, daughter-in-law, Rebecca, sister, Helen Joy Miller, granddaughter, Christy White and husband Brandon, grandson, Sean Mantooth and wife Charlotte, seven great grandchildren, four nieces and seven nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with service to follow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Carpenter's Campground Cemetery followed by a reception.
