Willis H. Hogan, Jr. (Bill), age 80, passed away Friday evening. Bill was born the son of Janet and Willis H. Hogan in Fort Dodge, Iowa and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline, his sister Mary Johnson, and children, Barbara, David, and John. Grandchildren include Kristin, Alexandra, Madeline, David, Jay Hanf, Sophia Ingram, and Ian Ingram. Bill grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in electrical engineering. Bill and Jackie were married in August of 1961. After 2 years in the U.S. Army, Bill went to work for Alcoa where he remained a loyal employee for 38 years. Bill was both a dedicated husband and father, as well as an active community member. He was a longtime member of Alcoa Kiwanis and enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Louisville. While Mr. Hogan’s civic commitments took up much of his time, Bill was also a fun-loving friend whose personality also had a naturally playful side. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and memories of happy times together will remain in our hearts forever. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Smith West Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Saint Marks United Methodist Church with Pastor Curt McKee officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM- for the interment at Louisville Cemetery followed by a communal meal back at St. Mark's in the fellowship hall.
