William “Bill” Cowan McCammon, Sr., age 88 of Maryville, TN, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Hendersonville Health & Rehab in Flat Rock, NC. Bill was born July 4, 1928 in Wilsonville, AL. He was employed by Aluminum Company of America, Belmont Electric, Union Carbide (retired), Ormet Corporation (retired), Westinghouse, Southern Railway, Secret Service for President Truman. He was a member of Worldwide Church of God and Church of God, The Eternal since 1964. He graduated from Greenback High School and from the Metropolitan Police Academy, Washington, DC. Bill was a Veteran of the US Navy, Seaman 2nd Class serving in World War II in the Pacific. Preceded in death by: Wife, Jeanette Clementine Headrick McCammon; Parents, Anderson Blount & Edna Cooper McCammon; Grandchildren, Jessica Nicole McCammon and Travis Cowan McCammon; Great-Grandchildren, Conner James Catevenis Alex Cordelia Catevenis, and Grayson James Catevenis; Survivors include: Children, William Cowan McCammon, Jr., Edward Lynn McCammon & wife Lori, Terrie Ellen McCammon Cassidy & husband Donald, and Michael Keven McCammon & wife Kitty; Grandchildren, Carmel Elizabeth Price-Sanderlin & husband Patrick, Julie Christine Price, Curtis Ann McCammon Catevenis & husband Greg, Jason Edward McCammon & wife Angela, Jeremy Headrick, Heather Christine McCammon, and Amber Renea McCammon Winstead & husband Nathan, Eddie Hernandez and Adrian Hernandez plus numerous Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Thelma (Polly) Perkins and Mary Rachel Roberts & husband Bill; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org or Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care Elizabeth House, www.fourseasonscfl.org/donate/foundation. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Smith Trinity Chapel.
