Willie Franklin Looney II

Willie Franklin Looney II (Bill) passed peacefully surrounded by his family on May 30, 2024 age 73. Bill was born on July 07, 1950 the son of William Franklin Looney SR and Clela Looney. Bill proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force. Bill is survived by his wife Belynda (Calaway) Looney of 40 years. He was a member of Acension Life Church. He is going to be remembered for being a husband, father, pawpaw, and friend. Besides his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Bronson Looney of Arkabutla, MS, Shonda Tapia of Byrum, MS Jeremiah Looney(Andrea) of Henderson, TN, Josh Looney of Henderson, TN, Yolanda Tapner (Paul)of Seymour, TN, Kristy Whiteside of Madisonville TN, James Thurber JR of Jackson, MS; and granddaughter raised as his own Katelynn Parker (Steven) 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Carol Thompson (Woodie) of Summerville, SC, Kay Winchester (Jim) of Rossville, TN and Carla Armour (Tim) of Indian Trails, NC, several nieces and nephews and his feline friends Callie, Prissy, and Smoky.  His two dogs Oreo and Scooter. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; Willam Franklin Looney Sr and Clela Looney, grandson Preston Duane Carlock and a sister Pat Cornelius. “For, I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:6-7.  Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, June 7, 2024 at Smith Trinity Chapel.  A service in witness to Bill’s life and faith will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brian Miller officiating.
