William Edgar Turpin

William Edgar (Papoose) Turpin age 91 of Crossville, formerly of Maryville, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at UT Hospital. He was a charter member of Smoky View Baptist Church and retired from ALCOA after 44 years of service. William was an avid animal lover, Tennessee fan, and enjoyed the wild life in Tansi Park. He was a former member of the Wheat Community. Preceded in death by: Wife, AnnaBelle Turpin; Son, Jerry Turpin; Three sisters, Dessie, Edna & Mildred. Survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Lynda & David Ellis; Grandchildren, David Loy & Kim Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Julie Ellis, and Joseph & Belinda Ellis, Lisa & Jason Stephens, Michelle Cooper, Elena & Rocky Shealy, and Tiffany Turpin; Great-Grandchildren, Cari Ellis, Megan Waters, Bren Klager, Taylor Sands, Eric Bell, Alex Bell, Makayla Stephens, Tara Shealy, Kendall Ellis, Karsyne Ellis, AvaMaria Shealy, Ryder Klager, Andrew Klager; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Jullian & Amiyah; Brother, Alex Turpin; sister, Mae Hensley; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers and friends, Chuck & June Stephens. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. R.M. Everett officiating.
