William Carl Ross age 85 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He served in the Medical Corp in US Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater and retired from the Army Reserves. He married Jean Filson in September 1942. He was a retired agent with Prudential Insurance; a Past Master and 32nd Degree Mason of Masonic Lodge #363 in Oil City, PA, and a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City, PA. He was an avid golfer and played with a league in Oil City, PA. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Oil City, PA. Preceded in death by: Parents, Carl & Flora Ross; Sisters, Irene Stack, Virginia Titus, Lucille Hovermale. Survivors include: Wife of 65 years, Jean F. Ross; Daughters, Nancy (Roger) Sederberg, Deborah Ross, Julie (Larry) Durand, Lorri (Tommy) Gibbons; Five Grandchildren, Rochelle (Mike) Butler, Erik Sederberg, Ali and Michael Gibbons, Amelia Durand; Three Great-Grandchildren, Brett, Benjamin and, Brandon Butler; Nephew, Richard Titus. Family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Lodge #363 in Oil City, PA.
