William H. Mueller

William H. Mueller age 91 of Maryville passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his home. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Bradley University. William was a veteran of the United States Army during WW II and retired from ALCOA with 34 years of service. While being a member of First United Methodist Church in Maryville for over 50 years, he served on numerous mission trips to the Dominican Republic and New Orleans, LA. He enjoyed volunteering for Second Harvest, Community Food Connection, the Welcome Table, Celebrate Recovery, and volunteered with Blount County Habitat for Humanity for 25 years and participated in the building of more than 100 houses. Preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Mueller. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jessica Mueller; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Rodney Nelson and Jayne and Mike Gallegos; grandchildren, Leslie Mueller, Henry Mueller, Jenica Nelson and husband, Reilly Shwab, Reece Nelson and wife, Zoe, Tory Nelson, Maddie, Frannie, Jake, and Georgie Gallegos; many special friends at Blount County Habitat for Humanity and First United Methodist Church of Maryville. The family would like to thank Blount Memorial Hospice and caregivers Teresa Ratledge, Justin Shipman, and Dickie Dailey for the love and care they have shown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blount County Habitat for Humanity in memory of William. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in the Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at First United Methodist Church of Maryville with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
