William "Bill" Moody

William "Bill" Moody, age 83, passed away on February 28, 2025, in Maryville, Tennessee. Born on January 10, 1942, in Maryville, Bill spent his life rooted in the community he loved. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before embarking on a long and dedicated career at ALCOA, from which he eventually retired. Bill was a devoted husband and father, known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. He found joy in spending time on the golf course, fishing, and cheering on his beloved University of Tennessee football team. His golfing buddies and neighbors held a special place in his heart, and he remained grateful for their friendship and support over the years. He is survived by his sisters Janie Moore and Shannon Moody; his sons Brian and Kevin Moody; his daughter and son-in-law, Marcie and Lazaro Vazquez; and his cherished grandchildren Rachel Moody, Mason Moody, Isabel Vazquez, and Aidan Vazquez. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Michal Moody; his parents, James and Jewell Moody; and his sisters Carol Lummus, Bernice Harris, and Brenda Spiva. A service in Bill's memory will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on March 9, 2025 in Smith’s Trinity Chapel. Those attending are invited to wear Big Orange in his memory.
