William Eugene Lequire, age 90 of Maryville, went home to be with his wife and Lord and Savior on Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family as they sang hymns of praise. He was a member of Tuckaleechee Baptist Church and the Cades Cove Preservation Association. He was a lifelong farmer and craftsman retiring from Waters Equipment with over 30 years of service. He was the son of the late Milton and Ruby Lequire and was preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 68 years, Ruby Jo Williams Lequire; Son-in-law, Bobby Waters; Brother and Sister-in-law, Arnold and Lois Lequire. Survived by his Daughters and Son-in-law, Judy Waters and Connie and Steve Bright; many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren and his special buddy, Rev. John Lowe. The family would like to express their gratitude and special thanks to all of the staff of the 5th floor of Blount Memorial Hospital and special caregivers, Melissa and Anna. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. John Lowe officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 2:30pm. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.
