William "Allen" Leatherwood

William “Allen” Leatherwood died at peace with his children at his side on March 29, 2023.  He was born on November 10, 1931 in Maryville, TN and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory & Henry College.  Allen lived by a simple philosophy: “Life is not hard - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. And love your neighbor as yourself.  The rest takes care of itself.” He was a lifetime faithful member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

Allen is preceded in death by his wife Betty Leatherwood, parents Abe and Pearl Leatherwood, brother Harold Leatherwood and sister Beth Leatherwood.

 He is survived by son Joe Leatherwood (Ann); daughter Sarah Leatherwood Norris (Dewey); grandchildren Michelle Leatherwood and Christopher Leatherwood.

The family will gather for a graveside service on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spark Plugs Class College Scholarship Fund at Fairview United Methodist Church at 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN  37803.
