William "Bill" Largent

WILLIAM “BILL” LARGENT, age 80, of Alcoa, TN passed away on December 28, 2024. Bill was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. He retired after 25 years from City of Knoxville/Metro Airport Authority as a Safety Officer. Bill was a Mason at New Providence No. 48 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Years before he retired, he raced motorcycles, was a dive master in SCUBA diving and loved to go caving. He also loved to repel off cliffs and studied karate. All of this gave him the name “Wild Bill.” In his later years, he loved to keep his yard very neat and watch his bluebirds as they nested outside our window. He and Judy loved sitting on the front porch, having coffee in the morning with their little dog, Maddy. Bill overcame a lot of illnesses, but he was like the Eveready battery, he kept going as long as he could. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. and Margaret Largent; brother, Larry Largent. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Judy Largent; his little dog, Maddy; sister, Sue Alexander (Richard) of Defiance, Missouri; three special nieces, Paula, Karen, and Ann; sister-in-law, Sharon Largent; many other nieces and nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Smith’s Trinity Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM officiated by Preacher Dean Brantley. Family and friends will assemble on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM for an interment service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 541 Pleasant Hill Rd, Maryville, Tennessee 37803.
