William Huiet

July 19, 1939 — May 21, 2014

William "Bear" Huiet, age 74, of Townsend, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital surrounded by his family. Bear was retired from the Smokey Mountain Park Service as a heavy machine operator in Cades Cove. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and pilot who loved flying, an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed building and flying model planes. He had a passion for helping out young children. As a young man he lived life to the fullest. Bear and Nancy were soul-mates and best friends in their 32 years together. And, together, they raised three sons and grandsons. Preceded in death by his son, Shannon Neff; parents, Faye and Lin Huiet, and cousin, Joe Wolfe. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons, Wesley Neff and Cale Neff; grandsons, Joseph, Isaac, Jeremiah, and James Neff; daughter-in-law, Sarah Neff; cousins, Susanne Wolfe, David and Teresa Wolfe, Jason and Julie Wolfe and family, all of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Pat Tipton; brother-in-law, Ronnie Myers, both of Townsend, Sidney Myers, and wife, Linda of Cherokee, NC; special friends and neighbors, Glenn and Charles Ledbetter of Townsend; many nieces, nephews, and other family and many friends also survive. Graveside services and Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Karolyn Banes officiating.
