William Neal Headrick

William Neal Headrick age 81 of Townsend, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2007. Neal was a member and Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend. He was a member of the American Legion and was a veteran of the United States Marines serving in World War II. Neal retired from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with 30 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lura Valentine Headrick; sisters, Merlie, Edith, Mae, Hazel, and Yvonne; brothers, Don and Floyd; step-father, Charlie Sellers. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth Headrick; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Monte Walker; grandson, Doug Walker all of Townsend; step-mother, Eva Sellers of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 Smith West Chapel with Dr. Steve Linginfelter officiating. Interment 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Townsend. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 132 Bethel Baptist Church Road, Townsend, TN 37882.
