William D. Evans, Sr.

William D. Evans Sr. (Bill), age 81, of Maryville, with a confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of his life, cleaned his tools, packed his toolbox and went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 surrounded by family. Bill served on the USS Missouri and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in December 1947. He worked as a brick mason at ALCOA and retired after 38 years of service. Bill was active in teaching Scouts and coaching at Eagleton Ball Park for many years. He was married to Lillian Evans for 60 wonderful years. He also leaves behind eight children, 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and many other children of his heart, far too numerous to name; one sister, Joy; one brother, David. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 31, 2010 at East Maryville Baptist Church with Jeff Evans officiating. Interment will follow at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery.
