William Thomas Davis Jr.

William T. Davis, Jr. born February 24, 1932 went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2015. He loved to travel, pitch horseshoes and recently enjoyed visits from family and friends. As his health faltered, his faith never did. He felt love for his family, friends, and neighbors and helped as much and as long as he was able. After working in several public jobs, he worked for and retired from Maryville Housing Authority at Parkside. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Parents, William Davis Sr. and Allie Davis; Wife, Elsie Edith Effler Davis; Son, William Clark Davis; Granddaughter, Lydia Gayle Davis; Great-Granddaughter, Emily R. Hall; Sister, Nadine Effler; Brothers, James and Marion (Buck) Davis. Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Donny H. & Mildred Davis of Maryville; Brothers, George and Robert Davis of Maryville and Larry Davis of Townsend; Granddaughters, Edith & Chance Cobb of Greenback, Kristen & Michael Hall of Friendsville; Great-Grandchildren, Mackenzie & Noah Hall of Friendsville. The family would like to mention and thank caregivers Larry Davis, Margaret Davis, and Brenda Breeden with acknowledgement to Blount Memorial Hospice Care Staff for all their help. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Smith Chapel with Rev. Harrison Hill officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Laws Chapel Church Cemetery.
