Willard Lee Hughes, age 90 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of World War II serving the United States Army. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum, Company with 45 years of service. Willard was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed the sport as a spectator in his later years. Preceded in death by: Parents, Verlin C. & Norma Hughes; Wife, Dolores Evelyn Hughes; Brothers, V.C. Hughes Jr., Maynard Hughes, Fred Hughes & wife Melba; Sister-in-law, Virginia Bailey; Sister, Loretta Forrester; Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law, C.W. & Margaret Bailey. Survivors include: Son, Jeffrey Lee Hughes & friend Coleen Effler; Daughter, Debbie Rudd; Sister-in-law, Dot Hughes; Brother-in-law, Don Bailey; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Jeff Patton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
