Wilbur Lawrence Effler

Wilbur Lawrence Effler age 90 of Maryville passed away Friday, October 7, 2011. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and was retired from Alcoa. Mr. Effler was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Emma (Alice) Brockman Effler; parents, Thomas and Georgia Effler; brothers, Clell and Werner Effler, and Harold (Trig) Burchfield; 1 Great Grandchild, N’Kosi McKever. Survivors include children; Robert Henry Effler and wife Linda, Wilbur Lawrence, Jr. and wife Judy, Wilda Fernandez, Nancy Smith and husband Steve, Cathi Barr and husband Steve, Betty Thompson, and Sandra Schwartz and husband Van, 8 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 Smith Trinity Chapel with his grandson, Rev. Danny Fernandez and Rev. Rex Rogers officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the Entombment with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2349 Mentor Rd., Louisville, TN 37777.
