Wayne Gordon Swaney, age 70, a lifelong resident of Maryville, departed this life on Friday, July 1, 2011 into the hands of God, his Savior, where he is now reunited with his precious family and friends. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was retired from Alcoa after 30 years and a member of the 25 year club. He was a lifelong member of Mountain View Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvia & Elizabeth Swaney; son, Jayson Keith Swaney; father-in-law, Clarence Crye; Survivors include his wife, Alma Crye Swaney; son & daughter-in-law, Darrell & Anne Swaney of Maryville; daughter-in-law, LeAnna Swaney; grandchildren, McKenna, Karley, Carsyn Swaney; mother-in-law, Bonnie Crye; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Julia Swaney of Maryville; niece, Teresa Edmondson and husband, Scott; several other nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; special friends, Ron and Deborah Willocks, June and Eddie Dillard, and Mac and Faye Ervin. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011 Smith Trinity Chapel with Barry Clanton and Benic Hampton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Mountain View Cemetery for Interment Service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gordons name to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
