Wayne Floyd Logan, age 67, of Alcoa, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, following a brief illness. He was a charter member of Sycamore Tree United Methodist Church and the owner of Blount Industries, which he operated for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mildred Helton Logan. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Hord Logan, son David Gray, daughter Dena Dodd, daughter Leslie Logan Beale and husband Leo, son Aaron Logan and wife Katie, grandsons Jonathan and Andrew Dodd and Logan and Blake Beale, sisters Sherry Johnston and Yvonne Smith, and brother Allan Logan. Mr. Logan had an undying love for his family and an irrepressible sense of humor. He was especially proud of the business he started in the basement of his home and the many friends he made along the way. The family will receive friends at Smith Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, with a memorial service to follow at 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery. Those wishing to do so may make memorial donations to Sycamore Tree United Methodist Church or the Wounded Warriors Project.
