Wayne T. Crisp, age 91, of Maryville, passed away April 9, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He grew up in Yellow Creek, NC. He entered the United States Army and served in World War II in several battles and received several medals of honor. He was a welder and retired from ALCOA, and was a member of their 25-Year Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. Preceded in death by wife of 61 years, Millie Crisp; Stepson, Bill Adams; Parents, Phil and Lela Crisp; Sisters, Florence Griggs, Josie Turpin, Rosel Turpin, and Maybel Griggs; Brothers, Jule Ditmore and Lloyd Crisp; Special Cousin, Warren Gladden. Survivors include: Stepson, Charles Adams & wife Ronnye; Grandsons, Mark Adams and wife Cinnamon, Brian Adams & wife Michele, Jason Adams & wife Brandi; Great-Grandchildren, Chelby, Bryce, Tyler, Graci, Nicholas, Katie, Jay & Brody; Nieces, Joan Roblee, Jean Broomes, Julia Wayne Turpin, Betty Collins, Sarah Bullard; Nephews, Jimmy Turpin and Bill Crisp; several great nieces and nephews and friends. Family will receive friends Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1:00 until 2:30 PM with funeral to follow at 2:30 PM in Smith Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating.
