Chodak, Wayne Michael age 59 of Rockford passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired as Police Chief from the Alcoa Police Department after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Chodak. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joan Chodak; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Tim Long of Friendsville; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Dawn Chodak of Maryville; grandchildren, Haley and Olivia Long, Michael and Mattison Chodak; mother, Dorothy Chodak of Monee, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Ernie Lindsey of IL, Nanette and Phil Dumm of IN; and a host of friends and family. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Greg Long and Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment.
