WARREN THOMAS WHITTENBARGER age 84, of Maryville, Tennessee, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday, April 21st, 2019. He had been in Amedisys Hospice Care for 2 months after a long battle from a failing heart. He died peacefully surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond Whittenbarger and mother, Mary Francis Whittenbarger, stepmother Grace Whittenbarger, sister, Geneva McCullough, twin brothers, Ronny and Donny Whittenbarger. Survived in death by his wife of 61 years, Nadine Whittenbarger, daughters and sons in law, Janet Kincaid and John Kincaid, Kim Caughron and Kent Caughron, grandsons and wives, Jonathan and Patsy Caughron and Jordan and Jade Caughron, great granddaughter Jolie Caughron. Brothers and wives, Sherman and Babe Whittenbarger, Jim and Marsha Whittenbarger, Stanley and Jessie Whittenbarger. Many nieces and nephews and his special dog "Bailey". Thomas was born in Harriman, Tennessee on October 26, 1934. He was the star football quarterback at South Harriman High School and also lettered in basketball and baseball during his high school years. He served his country in the Army and National Guard from 1955 to 1967 and afterward a job transferred his family to Maryville in 1963. The family would like to say a special thank you to all his Hospice caregivers and especially to Peggy Melhourn and Tonya Rex who were his special "angels" here on earth. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Marty Singley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Smithview Pavilion, 601 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM.
