Wallace Tuck

December 19, 1931 — February 24, 2009

Wallace "Dale" Tuck age 77 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Robert Shaw in 1994 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Carpenters United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He enlisted in the Army in 1951, served in the Korean War in an Artillery Unit on a 155 mm Howitzer Tank supporting the 1st Marine Division. He received a Bronze Star for outstanding courage and initiative going above and beyond the call of duty. He also received two Purple Hearts for being wounded in the line of duty. He was a Past Master of George Washington Lodge #181 F.&A.M. chapter in council, member of Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriners, member of Maryville Lodge #181, Past President Blount County Shrine Club, Purple Heart Club. Preceded in death by: Parents, Violet & Mose Tuck; Brothers, Raymond Tuck & Larry Tuck; Sister, Wanda Hutcheson. Survivors include: Wife of 54 years, Elsie Tuck; Children, Teresa Prater & husband James; Bonita Lowe, Ellen Coffey, Tim Tuck & wife Lisa, Alan Tuck & wife Diana; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; Brothers & Sisters, Angie Isbell, Harold Tuck & wife Helen, Twin brother Don Tuck & wife Geneva, Barbara Poole & husband Roger, Betty Coning & husband Albert, Rev. Steve Tuck & wife Sara; longtime friend, Bruce Garner. He was well loved by numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family. Masonic and funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2009 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Kenny Tucker and Rev. Steve Tuck officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: First Choice Credit Union, 2535 E. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37804.
