Hitson, W.R. (Dub) age 82 of Rockford, beloved husband, father, grandfather entered his heavenly home on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Dub was a Naval Veteran of WWII. He was saved at an early age. As a current member of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Maryville, he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher and as a former member of Riverview Baptist Church of Rockford, he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader. Dub retired after 57 years of service at Rockford Manufacturing Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Euella Rowland Hitson; son, Dallas Wayne Hitson; parents B.C. & Nellie Hitson; step-mother, Modean Hitson; sister, Reva Garner. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Burchfield Hitson; son, Carlis and Sandra Hitson; stepchildren, Perry & Patty Burchfield, Randall & Lisa Burchfield, Roma Burchfield; grandchildren, Anthony Hitson, Angela Hitson, Jessie Burchfield, Abbie Burchfield, Chelsea Traylor, Robbie Solomon; great-granddaughter, Abra Coning; sisters & brothers-in-law, Ruth Campbell, Ella & Roger Smithey, Betty & S.L. Samples; brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Susan Hitson; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special friends, Ben & Marie Phillips of Kansas. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007, Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Carl White & Rev. Billy Moore officiating.
