Vivian Joyce Brown Cunningham, age 90, entered into glory on Friday, November 17, 2023. The world lost a sweet soul, and Heaven gained her. Vivian lived her life in quiet dignity and humble reverence. She loved her Lord, her family, and her church. Vivian touched countless lives while serving Cedar Grove Baptist Church for 68 years. Her roles included deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School director. She worked as the church secretary for over 33 years where she exemplified the true essence of serving with a humble heart. Vivian partnered with her husband to operate Vanwin Farms. For several years, she was board member of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home and the former Blount County Children’s Home. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edwin Davis; parents, Melvin and Mary Brown; sister, Betty Whitehead; brother, Robert Brown. She is survived by her children: Charles (Betsy), Martha Hawk (Jim), Gail Trotter (Ted), and Andrew Cunningham; grandchildren: Jenny, Barry, Becca, Bethany, Luke, Morgan, Meredith, Katie, Bryce, Landon, Mary Joyce; great-grandchildren: Whitley, Ava, Harper, Alastor, Quinn, Julian, Juniper; sister, Teresa Salyers; sisters-in-law, Betty Johnston, Edith Woods, Hazel Johnson, and beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Cedar Grove Baptist Church on Monday, November 20, 2023. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM, and the interment service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation (www.michaeljfox.org).
