Warren, Virginia Fay age 87 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Brakebill Nursing Home. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Ms. Warren worked at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center from 1940 until 1965 when she went to work as a Lab Technician for Eastern State Hospital, now known as Lakeshore Mental Health. She retired from Lakeshore in August of 1980. She was the first Knoxville woman to complete 150 hours of service in the Red Cross Nurses Aide course, qualifying her for emergency disaster relief. She had an amazing love for her family. She also enjoyed working with her flowers and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Stanford Warren; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include; daughters and sons-in-law, Sassy and Rick Foster, Dott and Steve Patton all of Knoxville; son, Eddie Warren of Pensacola, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Teresa Warren of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Candy and Tolliver Robertson, Jenni and David Bryant, Chuck Stillman, Kristi Warren, Angela Warren, Kerry and Chris Johnson, Brandon and Shonna Warren, Erin and Shaun Daniels, Matt and Georgianne Foster; great grandchildren, Zane Robertson, Logan Bryant, D. J. Johnson, Taylor Warren, Jakob Warren, Cole Foster; sister-in-law, Inez Cox of VA; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 5 at Highland Memorial Cemetery for the graveside service and interment with the Rev. Joe Green officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, July 3, 2006 at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
