Virginia "Jenny" Marie Reynolds Carroll Veasey

Virginia (Jenny) Marie Reynolds Carroll Veasey, (September 30, 1928 – January 30, 2025), was born in New Castle Virginia and was the daughter of Roswell Oscar Reynolds and Mary Gillie Huffman Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard David Carroll (Bud) of twenty-five years, husband Robert Thomas Veasey of twenty-one years and brother Francis Benton Reynolds. 

Jenny was a faithful member of the Aberdeen First Baptist Church and volunteer with Hospice and the Aberdeen Postmaster’s House. Jenny was a great cook and enjoyed hobbies including gardening, reading, knitting, tatting, cross stitching and crocheting. She also loved spending time with family and friends, square dancing, camping, playing bridge and bingo. She retired from a career in banking with BB&T. 

Jenny is survived by her son David Leigh Carroll, daughter in-law Mae Carroll and grandson Justin Lee Carroll and son Bruce Howard Carroll, daughter in-law Renie Carroll and grandchildren Emily Marie Carroll and Samuel Coleman Carroll. Jenny is also survived by her sister Annie Grace (Mrs. Monte) Looney, nephew Monte Joel Looney, Jr. and his fiancé Katheleen Beagle, niece Melissa Looney Cornett, her husband David Cornett, great niece Morgan Fredette and Morgan’s daughter Piper Anne Fredette. She is also survived by her niece Pamela K Lavinder and great nephews Justan Francis Benton Lavinder and Ashtan Garrett Gray Lavinder. 

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and nurses who cared for her during her time at Morning View Village. 

The service will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the chapel at Lotz Funeral Home (1330 East Main St., Salem, VA 24153) followed by the burial at Sherwood Burial Park. The viewing will be from 10:00am – 10:30am on February 4th at Lotz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O.
