Virginia Ellen Cox

Virginia Ellen Roberts Cox age 79 of Maryville passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, baking, singing, and playing piano. Preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lucy Roberts; brothers, Bill and A.B. Roberts; sisters, Bob Johnson and Joan Hutchens. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jim Cox; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Nina Cox and Jimmy and Denna Cox; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Chandler; Rachel and Ed Tramutolo, and Jenny Williams; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Edna Whaley;sister-in-law, Betty Estes and husband, Jim; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. David Webster officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
