Violet V. Wall

February 7, 1916 — June 19, 2011

Violet Wall was born on February 7, 1916 and went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2011 after having suffered a massive stroke. Violet was originally from Pine City, Minnesota where she lived in a lake home she and her husband built lovingly and painstakingly over a 34-year period, that she referred to as Happy Hollow. Sixteen years ago she sold her home and moved to Knoxville to be near her son and sister. She worked every year of her adult life until she retired at the age of 71, starting a transistor factory and later worked for Minneapolis Rehabilitation Center and finally for Pine County Welfare. She was an honor student in high school, and she dearly loved to read and write, especially poetry and short stories. Many of her stories and poems were published in her local town paper. She loved to garden and tended to lovely flower gardens at her home. She loved people and sharing stories of childhood and life’s experience. She was a talented seamstress and made most of her dresses. Throughout her life she had many pets but none quite so dear to her as her beloved cat, Oreo, who was her constant and loyal companion. Violet is preceded in death by: Husband of 46 years, Harry Wall; Father, Herman Brodale; Mother, Jeanette Goede; Step-father, John Goede; Sisters, Hazel Wickenhauser and Geraldine Boardman; Brother, Donald Brodale. Violet is survived by: Son, Keith Wall; Former Daughter-in-law, Diana Wall; Grandchildren, Kevin (Michelle) Wall, Vicki (Kerry) Warner, and Michael (Sarah) Larkin; Great-Grandchildren, Cassandra Wall Daniels, Karalyn Wall, Keith Wall, Kimberly Wall, Elliot Wall, and Ceclia Wall; nieces, nephews, and a myriad of friends. Her home-going celebration will be Friday, June 24, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Jean Richardson officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA.
