Victor Castleman Bernal

Victor Castleman Bernal ,82, passed away on Thursday, December 11. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Lyle Bernal who died in June of this year. He missed her tremendously. He left behind three daughters and a son-in-law, Jo Nelson of Murfreesboro, TN, Vicki and Rick Law of Townsend, and Suzy Iaconis of Ormond Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren, Sula Kosacky of Grimsby, Ontario, Victor Iaconis (Jessica) of Orlando, FL, Logan Law of Walland, Liza Law of Maryville, Fred and Ruth Nelson of Cookville, and Kevin and Trevor Iaconis of Ormond Beach; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily and Jake Girton of Grimsby, and Levi Brown of Maryville ; as well as a brother and sister in law, James and Pat Bernal plus many wonderful friends and neighbors. Vick was born in Donelson, TN, the son of Victor, Sr. and Lenor Bradley Bernal. He worked as a Factory Representative for many years, selling furniture, appliances and other merchandise to retail outlets. Vick was a bonded Blount County Field Deputy Sheriff, member of the NRA, and member of the Tennessee Firearms Association. He received his 50-year pin in the Masonic Lodge F 2006, was a member of Royal Arell Masonic Order of the American Legion, past member of the Moose Lodge and Lions Club. He and Gloria lived in Friendsville for 40 years before moving to Walland in 2000. He loved to garden, fish, hunt and spend time with his beloved family. Friends will be received in the Smith West Chapel on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00. Family and friends will assemble at 3:00 P.M. Monday at Sherwood Memorial Garden on Alcoa Hwy for graveside service and entombment.
