Vance Henry Shuler age 86 of Townsend, TN passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020. Vance was a deacon and member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Townsend, TN. He enjoyed morning meetings with his friends at Hardies in Browns Creek; he proudly served as an Army veteran from 1951-1953, during the Korean War. He is retired from Smokey Mountain Park Service of 30 years, he enjoyed carpentry and traveling. During retirement Vance was a maintenance and parts runner for Caylor excavation. He is preceded in death by his wife Joann Effler Shuler; parents George and Maude Shuler, Ralph (Kathryne) Shuler, Lavon (James) Garner, Dillard Shuler, Doil Shuler, Barbara Shuler, Delynn (Cecil) Caylor, nephews Alan (Gayle) Shuler, Donald (Sammy) Garner and their families. He is survived by Kathy Shuler Murrell, David (Ann) Shuler, Michael (Suzan) Shuler, Martha (Gary) Dickson, Peggy (Wayne) Stevenson and Brian (Danielle) Caylor and the Effler family. Vance’s kind heart and Godly spirt touched and enlightened all who met him. The family will begin with a call at convenience from 9am – 4pm in the Smith East Hall, Tuesday January 14, 2020, then a receiving of friends and family will begin from 4pm-6pm with a service to follow at 6pm.
