Tony A. Carpenter

Carpenter, Tony A. "Tank" age 58 of Maryville, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a US Army Vietnam era veteran. He was retired from Alcoa with over 31 years of service and he was a member of Alcoa's 25-Year Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Rilla Carpenter; sister, Charlotte Carpenter; infant brother, Ralph Carpenter. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 32 years, Judy Sparks Carpenter; loving sons, Anthony Shane Carpenter and Robert Scott White both of Maryville; loving brothers & sisters, Leonard Carpenter & wife, Bea of Stecoah, NC, Ray Carpenter & wife, Zella of Hickory, NC, Roger Carpenter & wife, Nettie of Robbinsville, NC, Marie Williams of Tapoca, Ruby Green and husband, Junior of Tapoca, Jonnie Carpenter of Maryville, Shirley Milliman & husband, Glenn of Andrews, NC, Jackie (Gayle) Will & husband, Art of Maryville, Kay Kuhn & husband, Kenneth of Robbinsville; Sisters-in-law, Sue Hurst & husband Marshall, Pauline Garner, and Wilma Garner; Several nieces, nephews, and a host of close friends. Funeral service 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2008, Smith West Chapel with Rev. Carl White & Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
