Tommie D. Abbott

Tommie Darrell Abbott age 69 of Maryville passed away Sunday July 15, 2012 at Asbury Place. He retired from Vulcan Materials after a motorcycle wreck in 1971. He was born on June 30, 1943 to the late Stanley Earnest (Slick) and Bertha Cable Tipton Abbott. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elna Joyce Abbott Joyner, brother Stanley Wayne (Cotton) Abbott, ex-wife, Diane Gayle Nichols Abbott. He is survived by; son and daughter-in-law Rev. James and Hope Abbott of Maryville, daughter and son-law Saletha Abbott Tuck and Brad Tuck of Maryville, grandchildren; Joshua and Gracie Brewer, Eli Tuck, Izaak and Zoe Abbott, sister Malynda Abbott of Maryville, sisters and brothers-in-law Judy and Jim Hill, Delorse and Bob Coada of Maryville, brother and sister-in-law, Lendel D. and Helen Abbott of Maryville, brother-in-law Bow Joyner of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special friends; Mr. Perry of Asbury Place, and a host of friends (nurses and residences) at Asbury Place of Maryville, too many to name. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 17, 2010 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. James Abbott officiating. The Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
