Tillman L McCarter

Tillman Lea McCarter of Maryville, TN, passed away on March 23, 2019, at the age of 89 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Tillman was a military veteran who served honorably during the Korean War. He was a loving husband and wonderful father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary McCarter, and his siblings Martha Clabo, Alfred McCarter, Hugh McCarter, and Roy McCarter. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Nancy Langley McCarter, his children Stephen McCarter and wife Vickie, Joan McCarter Payne and husband Terry, Thomas McCarter and wife Angie, his grandchildren Joseph Wade and wife Melissa, Aaron McCarter and wife Sharon, Christal Bailey and husband Rob, Shannon Speth and husband Jason, Buffie Walker and husband Derrick, Amanda Allum and husband Gary, Farah Rains and husband Nick, and 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm, until 7:00pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Smith Trinity Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00pm with grandsons Rev. Aaron McCarter and Rev. Nick Rains and Rev. Rob Baily officiating also Rev. Richard Blackburn. The family and friends will then assemble for a graveside service and interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1pm.
