Thomas Lee Horis

June 18, 1935 — July 13, 2016

Thomas L. Horis age 81 of Maryville, claimed his eternal reward Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Clover Hill Senior Living. He served his country in the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1957 – 1960. He was an Insurance Agent with State Farm in Maryville for 30 years before retiring in December 2000. Tom served as an Elder of Maryville Church of Christ for 23 years and was dedicated to serving the Lord and witnessing to others. He loved to fish and bird hunt. Preceded in death by: parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include: Bride of 55 years, Ruth Horis; Daughters, Pamela Nelson of Smyrna, TN and Kimberly Reeves & husband Robert of Maryville; Sister, Desiree Sigler of Middleton, TN; Brother, Aaron Horis of Harrison, AR; grandchildren whom he deeply loved, Wyatt & Kelsey Nelson, Ashlee & husband Dustin Smith, and Ansley Reeves and great-grandchildren, Kade and Easton Smith; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Maryville Church of Christ. Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM with Ministers Herb Byrd, PJ Hicks, and Jonathan Jones II officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Grandview Cemetery.
