Thomas Mount Cragan

Thomas Mount Cragan age 90 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Colonial Hills Healthcare Center. He was the son of Paul Humes and Edith Steen Cragan of Maryville. They were members of New Providence Presbyterian Church. Tom attended Maryville City Schools and graduated from Maryville College in 1941. He was an officer in the United States Army serving during World War II. He received a PhD in History from the University of Tennessee and spent most of his career teaching History and Civilization at Knoxville College from which he retired in 1991. Tom was married to Dr. Mary Cragan of Maryville and is survived by their children: Son & Daughter-in-law, Paul & Mary Cragan of Phoenix, AZ; Daughter, Dr. Janat Cragan of Atlanta, GA; Son, Daniel Cragan of San Diego, CA; several nieces, nephews, and their children. Preceded in death by: Brother & Sister-in-law, Paul & Anne Cragan; Sisters, Margaret Wall, Catherine Barbee.
