Thomas B. Axley Sr. age 77 of Maryville passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born January 21, 1937, was a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville, graduated from Maryville High School, and attended Maryville College. Thomas retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. Preceded in death by: Parents, Vastine & Helen Axley. Survivors include: Wife, Karen Gregory Axley; Son, Thomas Axley, Jr. & wife Julia of Knoxville; Daughter, Jennifer Axley of Knoxville; Granddaughters, Amanda Axley Presnell & husband Andrew of Montgomery, AL, Sarah Axley of Birmingham, AL; Great-Granddaughter, Adeline Presnell of Montgomery, AL; Sister, Shirley Young of Hopkinsville, KY; several nieces and nephews; Special friends, Tom & Mary Bristol and their children, Richel Finfrock, Lee Bristol, Paul Bristol, Jack Bristol all of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery.
