Terrence Leon Newcomb, born February 11, 1948, passed away October 4, 2011. Terry departed this life doing what he loved best, fishing on the beautiful lakes and rivers of East Tennessee. He was a dedicated employee of Alcoa Aluminum Company for 38 years. He also was an honored Vietnam War era veteran serving with the 2nd marine Division in the Mediterranean. Terry was a Golden Gloves champion and trained under Ace Miller. Having excelled in the boxing ring, he went on to box for the Marine Corp boxing team. Preceded in death by: Parents, Ray Newcomb and Effie Newcomb Day; Brothers, Johnny & William (Buster) Newcomb. Survivors include: Loving Daughter, Crystal Wheelon & son-in-law, Joel; Son, Johnny Newcomb & daughter-in-law, Misty;. Terry cherished his precious grandchildren, Johnny II and Jesse Newcomb and Ellah & Evyn Wheelon. Loving Sister, Valerie Richardson; Brother, Michael Newcomb. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Linda Moore; devoted friends, Frank Faulkner and Brian Hampton and a host of other family and friends. Celebration of Terry’s life will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Smithview Pavilion, 601 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN 37803 with military honors at 7:00 PM.
