Terence Robert Brunning

Terence Robert Brunning, age 78 of Townsend, Tennessee, formerly of Romford, Essex, England, passed away on January 22, 2018 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville after a short illness. Terry was born on December 1, 1939 to the late Robert Henry Brunning and the late Dorothy Brunning. Terry first worked in the steel industry in England making the news featuring a photo of him working the high steel without safety equipment. He was fearless and challenged by the risk. He retired from Ford Motor Company as an innovation award winning engineer. Following retirement, Terry traveled the world and volunteered for several years at Maryville College’s Kin Takahashi week. He then moved to Townsend in 2003, became a permanent resident, and continued his passion for gardening. Terry was a gregarious character and will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Brunning. Terry is survived by his wife, Kirk Elizabeth Andrews; and his two daughters, Deborah Sylvia Brunning and Lisa Jane Weller, her husband David Weller, and her two children Sophie Rebecca Crowder and Ross Michael Crowder. He is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey Brunning; and his sister, Karen Brunning. In keeping with Terry’s wishes, a private service will be held.
