Sylvester C. Bowers

Sylvester C. Bowers age 80 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired after 34 years as a teacher in Monroe County and was a member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church. He was very devoted to his family and was adored by his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Grace Bowers; 11 brothers & sisters; stepson, Jimmy Jobe. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Bowers; daughter, Cynthia Woods; stepson, & wife, William & Anna Jobe; three grandsons, Shane Devine, Jason Pittman & Isaac Jobe; two granddaughters, Alicia & Emma Jobe; great granddaughter, Merci Devine; sister, Frances Hester; numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Alcoa First United Methodist Church.
