Susan “Gayle” (Huffman) Rose, age 70, of Maryville, went to be with her Lord and Savior at sunrise on Friday, January 11, 2019 surrounded at home by her family. She is survived by her loving husband, James Earl “Jim” Rose, of 53 years; daughter Laura “Jill” Rose; daughter and son in law Caren and James Rose, 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Ellie, all of Maryville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Pauline Warwick Huffman, and her son, James Earl Rose, Jr. Gayle was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 66, and Walters State CC where she became a registered nurse. She worked at Blount Memorial Hospital and Asbury Nursing Home. She devoted her life to taking care of others. Gayle was a wonderful wife, mother, and mamaw. Lover of Seinfeld, Burt’s Bees and online shopping, she had a quick wit and was the glue that held everything together. She was proud of having jet black hair that even chemo couldn't touch. She fought bravely until the end. Please join us as we celebrate her life on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5-7 pm.
