Steven O’Neal Harrison, the son of the late, Conley Fred Harrison, and Anne Harrison of Lenoir, North Carolina died on December 6, 2022 at the Blount Memorial Hospital emergency room. Steven was a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1979, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He spent his career in accounting for 32 years at Alstom, later retiring in 2016. He enjoyed his job. It was amazing how he could remember dates, in time and history. He enjoyed playing golf and was so proud of his certificate he was given for his hole in one on the 17th hole at Wild Laurel Golf Course. He was very fond of Micah and the guys which worked at the golf course, and considered his being able to play there to be something he truly was fond of after his retirement. His wife of 38 years, Sheila Harrison, would kindly appreciate for all those who will miss Steve, dearly, to know she considers herself to have been very blessed to share with her beloved husband, the love of the PURE TRUTH in John 14:6, and their love and journey in the study of God’s Word for their 38 years marriage. It was an honor to be able to share with, and to keep our wonderful marriage vows we made to one another on July 20, 1984, to love and honor one another until death suddenly, did us part. Thankfully, Sheila will continue to draw strength from the writings of the apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, knowing God’s Word will stand when everything else fails! Steven would very often quote Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints”. Therefore, we will continue in faith to trust God’s promises, as we pray for the strength to endure until the end ourselves! Please remember the following members in your loving prayers: Anne Harrison, Sheila Harrison, Ethan Harrison, Shawna and Benny Brewster, Freida White (Mike White), Terry Harrison (Angie Harrison), Lorie Laws (Todd Laws), Myra Sanders (Tim Sanders), Conla Rainey (Joe Rainey), along with numerous nieces and nephews. We deeply appreciated his dedication to the study of the Word of God, and his ability to teach directly from the scriptures in right context! He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him well!! Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Smith Trinity Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Reece Boling officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM for Interment Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Prospect Cemetery.
