Stephen W. Streeter age 56 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 at The University of Tennessee Hospital from complications of heart failure. He was born December 4th 1952 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Butler High School, in Huntsville, AL where he received a basketball scholarship to the University of North Alabama, earning a Bachelors degree in music and Masters degree in education and counseling. He loved his family and serving his local community, but most of all he loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. Pastor Steve Streeter was in ministry for over thirty five years, serving in areas such as Minister to Youth, Outreach, Education, Administration, Music and Counseling. He served Embassy Christian Center since its inception in July 1991, with specific responsibilities in the areas of Pastoral Care, Counseling, Discipleship and Administration. He also served as the Pastoral Supervisor of Embassy Pastoral Center (pastoral counseling), gave oversight to Celebrate Recovery and taught in Ambassador College. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Forrest and Fay Streeter and mother-in-law Helen Smith. Steve leaves behind his wife Shirley, daughter Susie, honorary daughter Connie Weaver, son T.J. and daughter-in-law Elizabeth and a granddaughter Charley, as well as brothers Gordon S. Streeter of Madison, AL and Guy M. Streeter of Huntsville, AL. There will be a Celebration of Life service held at Embassy Christian Center 2505 Old Niles Ferry Rd. Maryville, TN at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10th. The service will be led by Dr. J. Tod Zeiger.
