Stephen Joseph Saal

Stephen Joseph Saal of Maryville, TN, exchanged his earthly body for a heavenly one on August 17, 2010. He was born August 4, 1947 in Mogadore, OH to Gilbert and Ruth Saal. He was a quiet, strong man. He had a firm belief in God and tried to live in an honorable manner. He faithfully attended services at New Hope Baptist Church. He worked hard as an over-the-road truck driver to provide for his family. He enjoyed hot rods and was often seen at shows with his 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by: Father, Gilbert Saal; Daughter, Teresa Saal. Survivors include: Mother, Ruth Papoi; Wife of 25 years, Andrea; Two Sons, Chad (Lauren) Saal of Apex, NC and Christian (Liliana) Saal of Albuquerque, NM; One Daughter, Sarah (Victor) Brown of Nelsonville, OH; Six Grandchildren, Stephanie, Timothy, Katie, and Kevin Saal of New Mexico and Brian Johnson and Natalie Brown of Ohio; Siblings, Robert (Ramona) Saal of Gainesville, FL, John (Rhonda) Saal of Sun City, AZ, Ed Saal of IL, Mary (Kathy) Saal of Blaine, MN; Sister-in-law, Zelda Saal of Canal Fulton, OH and many nephews and nieces and their families whom he loved. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Smith West Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am, Friday, August 20, 2010 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Mike Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. All are invited to gather at his home afterwards. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. A. Smuckler, Dr. D. Vines and E. Heard, RPh for their care of Stephen during his struggle with heart disease.
