Stephen "Softball/Nut" Simpson. Hearing the call of his Savior, departed this life to be welcomed into the arms of our Lord and into his Heavenly eternal home on December 11, 2014. Others there to welcome him home were his earthly father and mother, Lloyd Maxwell Simpson and Irma O'Dell Simpson; Step-mother, Virginia Jewell Simpson; his first wife, Becky Myers Simpson; fathers-in-law and mother-in-law, Luke Myers, Harry Myers, Bill and Martha Maples, as well as a host of other earthly relatives. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 35 years, Linda Maples Simpson; brother, Charles Simpson; sisters, Pamela Penny (Jim) Huskey and Rose Simpson; beloved nephews, James Huskey and Jeffrey Huskey; uncle and aunts, R.H. and Andrea Jewell, Pearl LeSueur, and Margaret Maples; nieces, Tosha and Melinda Matthews, Sandy (Paul) Cooper, Becky Myers, and Amanda Maples; other nephews, David (Cathy), Andrew (Lisa) and Bill (Sheila) Simpson; Luke (Andrea) and Charles Myers; Josh Maples; in-laws, Nanette Myers, Kenneth and Jeri Myers, Karen Myers, Gary and Sandy Maples; special friends, Phil, Dena, and Aaron Eakins; Bill Padgett; Larry, Connie and Shaley Chasteen, Jack Raby, Beth Burnette, Ruth Henry. Steve loved coaching softball for many different teams for 30 years and retired from LMHI after 38 years of service. Member of 1st Baptist Concord. Family and friends will assemble at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the Funeral Service and Interment with Bro. Doug Sager officiating.
