Star Peggy Illene Davidson-Purkey age 56, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend completed her long courageous battle with cancer on August 24, 2010 at 1:56 a.m. Star will be forever remembered by her quiet humor, steadfast heart and unwavering faith and trust in the Lord. Star was born in Batesville, AR moved at a young age to Brazoria, TX and later settle with her husband in Maryville, TN. Star was a loyal employee of Denso. In her free time she pursued her passions, for family, friends, her pets and art. She also loved to paint having canvases that can easily rival any gallery. Star spoke publicly for the rights of battered women and children, volunteered with several organizations, and was known to be able to find a loving home for any animal ever brought to her. Star was preceded in death by: Grandparents, Vernie & Obie Davidson; Mother, Barbara Henry; Brother, John “Bo�? Henry II. She is survived by: Devoted Husband of 31 years, Charles E. Purkey; Daughter, Dawn D. Shepard & husband Ben; Beloved Grandson, Charles Leigh Benton; Parents, Zenus “Z.T.�? Davidson & Rose Davidson; Brother, Tharell Davidson & wife Denise; Brother, Tim Davidson & wife Anne; Sister, Tonya Cooley & husband Marlin; Sister, Joyce Foley & husband Gerald and a host of dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends young and old. We would like to express our sincere thanks to our Dotson Memorial Baptist Church family, a special thank you to her Sunday school class for all of their help, Dr. Wilhoit, Dr. Feng and their staff, numerous friends including those at Denso, and the nurses at Caris Home Health. You have all been a constant source of comfort and encouragement, we thank you all. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 27, 2010 at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church with funeral service to follow with Rev. Dale Ellenburg officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Dotson Memorial Baptist Church Youth Fund, 814 Dotson Memorial Drive, Maryville, TN 37801. Funeral service will be held at Qualls-Batesville Funeral Service, 546 Harrison Street, Batesville, AR on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Mt.
