SM Sgt. Homer David Williams age 74 of Alcoa went home to be with his Lord on Friday September 9, 2011. David was a 1955 graduate of Alcoa High School. David was preceded in death by; father, Homer Pearl Williams, niece, Susan Wilbanks, stepfather, Omer Floyd Waldrop, mother, Ruth Davis Williams Waldrop, Sister, Betty Baker, nephew, Michael Joseph Williams, niece, Melinda Lee Maples. David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gladys K. Williams, beloved son, Samuel David Williams, Brother, Edwin Williams (Helen) of Oak Ridge, Wm. Joseph Williams (Helen) of Alcoa, sister, Sue Maples of Pigeon Forge, Cathy (Bill) Wilbanks of Orlando, Fl, and Johnnie (Jim) Tittle of Alcoa, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the West Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Bill Akers of Chattanooga officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to; Base Supply Benevolent Fund c/o Clarence Huddleston, 1558 Neighbors Way, Maryville, Tn. 37803-2664 or to your favorite charity in his name.
