Geneva Sloan Raper

Geneva Sloan Raper age 91 of Maryville passed away Friday, February 07, 2014 at Sevier County Health Care Center. She was a longtime member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and wonderful cook and gardener. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister who will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Preceded in death by: Husband, R.B. Raper; Grandchildren, Dustin Raper and Bill Hopper; Brother, Hugh Sloan, Norman Sloan, J.C. Sloan, and R.B. Sloan; Sisters, Dorothy Keyees and Zeba Lou Bryant; Special Sister-in-law, Hazel Sloan. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Jim & Brenda Raper of Louisville and Don & Addie Raper of Maryville; Grandchildren, Mike & Deane Raper, Amy Whaley, Brent Raper all of Maryville; Great-Grandchildren, Lora Raper, Steven Raper, Megan Whaley, Ashton Whaley, Abby Kiely, and Riley Raper; Brother, Albert Sloan of Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and other family. Special thanks to all the staff on the East Wing at Sevier County Health Care Center, and to Brother Gary Thomas, and Mrs. Louise Rainwater for their faithful visits. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
